What MCA Associates Do

The MCA Associate Program isn’t just a lecture series, but rather a hands-on cohort. Every week you’re paired with a mentor and your peers to practice the exact skills firms interview for.

Mentor & mentee casing, every week

You’ll case with your assigned mentor on a consistent case that tracks the week’s lesson, and separately with a different peer each week to keep pattern-matching new prompts.

Get first-hand exposure to top firms

MCA Associates will attend exclusive company events, meet with recruiters, and have access to our alumni for coffee chats and recruiting help.

Learn as a class and meet future coworkers

Associates grow closer together as you take on recruiting, and you get the chance to meet the brightest minds in consulting at UT.

Are you eligible?

If you are eligible for consulting internships in the next calendar year, you can apply to MCA. In the spring, you can meet this requirement if:

You are a second-year student in a 4-year program
You are a third-year student in a 5-year program
You are a first-year student in a 4-year program OR a second-year student in a 5-year program eligible for McKinsey, Bain, or BCG’s diversity program for sophomores. Generally, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, or Indigenous/Native American/Alaska Native students are eligible for these programs.

Frequently Asked Questions

I’m a junior or senior, and I want to recruit for full-time positions. Can I apply?

No. We only support students recruiting for internships.

Do I have to be a business major to apply?

No, MCA is open to students of all majors, given that you meet the other eligibility requirements.

Do you recruit during the Spring and Fall semesters?

Historically, MCA has recruited during the Spring and Fall semesters. However, because consulting firms have moved up their application deadlines considerably, we have eliminated our Spring recruitment cycle. Although our policy is subject to change, we plan only to recruit during the Fall semesters.

Can I reapply if I am not admitted?

You can reapply only if you maintain eligibility in the next application cycle. This is not possible for most students, since we only accept students who are eligible for consulting internships in the next calendar year.

I’m a woman. Do I qualify for diversity programs? Can I apply as a freshman?

Generally, women must also identify as Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, or Indigenous/Native American/Alaska Native to qualify for diversity programs. Refer to McKinsey, Bain, or BCG’s diversity program requirements for sophomores. If you are a freshman, we urge you to join the Consulting Academy.

I’m a graduate student. Can I apply?

We only recruit undergraduate students.
